Synergy Business Events Ushers in New era for Comrades Expo


Esteemed exhibition organizer, Synergy Business Events has scored yet another management contract, this time in the sporting fraternity. Synergy has won the bid for the management and organizing of the 2020 – 2022 Comrades Marathon Expo.


Synergy is no stranger to mega events; the company runs two of the major Tourism Exhibitions in the country, namely Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba with a combined floorspace of 14,338 square metres.

“We are confident in the capabilities of Synergy and are excited to be working with them as our selected service provider in growing the annual 3-day running expo,” commented Cheryl Winn, Chairperson of the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA).


The Comrades Expo is a prelude to the internationally acclaimed Comrades Marathon which will be celebrating its 95th anniversary in 2020. The show attracts a host of sports fanatics and fitness enthusiasts.

Families and supporters of entrants in The Ultimate Human Race get to spend time at the expo and engage with top sports brands,the latest running technologies, sporting gear and more.

“We don’t take this appointment lightly;it’s a big deal to produce this show that runs alongside one of the biggest and best sporting brands in the world. Our team is excited about preserving the quality and the development of new elements to the Expo,” said Tiisetso Tau, Managing Director at Synergy Business Events.
