Durban to host Africa Travel Indaba
By Teboho Masakala
Durban will once again host the Africa Travel Indaba
which is set to be held from 2-4 May at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International
Conference Centre (known as Durban ICC). The media launch was held on 3 April
at Planet Avenue in Durban. The Indaba is held by SA Tourism in partnership
with Tourism-KZN.
The Indaba promotes African products and services.
It is where African exhibitors and international buyers meet to buy
African products and network.
Last year 1000 exhibitors from 19 African states
took part in the Indaba and international buyers from the United States of
America, Australia, Belgium and other parts of the world descended
on Ethekwini (as Durban is dubbed). International media also formed part
of the Indaba.
Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, Chief Bureau Officer for SA
Tourism said the Indaba aims to shift the negative perception that is there
about Africa and to focus on what Africa can offer the world.
819 exhibitors have already confirmed that they will
form part of the Indaba and 1058 buyers from all over the globe
have confirmed their attendance. The Indaba is also open to
exhibitors from all over South Africa, Bloemfontein as well as
the Eastern Free State. Ehibitors/ SMME’s who want to showcase their
products to international visitors are invited to take advantage of this
opportunity to showcase their products to the world. Register on
